A Premier Auditioned Chorale in the Greater Princeton Area
A troubador for our times, acclaimed musician, recording artist and song leader "Uncle" Gerry delights audiences around the world with his charismatic warmth and charm. A long-time friend of Voices and Music Together, Gerry will be sharing his music and story-telling at this special online event. Dedicated to keeping the Celtic heritage alive, he will perform a range of music from ballads to fast Irish "mouth music." Listeners will be encouraged to sing along (muted) on Zoom. "I just want to impart to the audience the joy I know in my life, the joy that I know is real... I want to tickle the audience with humor, to include surprises, and to expose listeners to the tenderness of the Celtic spirit."

The musicians of Voices Chorale NJ really miss singing together, and with no end in sight for this forced time away, we wanted to share music from our December 2019 concert. The text by composer Kyle Pederson seems particularly poignant in these troubled times.
We look forward to sharing more music with you in the future, and wish all of us peace, safety and good health, now and always. Can We Sing the Darkness to Light? - Kyle Pederson

What if instead of more violence
We let our weapons fall silent? No more revenge or retribution No more war or persecution. It could be beautiful. What if instead of our judgment We soften our hearts that have hardened? Instead of certainty and pride We love and sacrifice. It could be beautiful. Can we see the other as our brother? Can we sing the darkness to light? Sounding chords of compassion and grace Set the swords of judgement aside Let mercy's eyes See the other human face. |
