VOICES CHORALE NJ: TENOR CHORAL SCHOLAR POSITION
Choral Scholars provide vocal expertise and leadership to assist dedicated adult chorale members who greatly appreciate the scholar’s example and inspiration while learning and performing. The scholar additionally shares areas of expertise such as warm-ups, vocal technique, IPA pronunciation, or sectionals, and will also be considered for solo parts.
- Our fall repertoire includes Vivaldi's wonderful "Gloria," partnered with Christmas, Chanukah and holiday favorites.
- Our winter concert will be Saturday, December 14 at 4:00 p.m. in Princeton, NJ.
- Our spring concert will be Saturday, May 3 at 4:00 p.m. in Princeton, NJ.
- Rehearsals are held at Music Together, 225 Pennington-Hopewell Road, Hopewell, NJ 08525 (less than 15-minute drive from downtown Princeton)
- Rehearsal Schedule: Monday nights 7:30-9:30 PM, starting September 9, plus one dress rehearsal per concert
Responsibilities and guidelines for the position:
- Attend Monday night rehearsals at Music Together in Hopewell, New Jersey
- Attend seasonal concert and dress rehearsals in Princeton, NJ
- Sing your voice part at a professional level and act as section leader, if assigned
- Provide bio and photo for marketing and concert program
- Assist chorus members with the repertoire, as needed
- Arrive 15 minutes before rehearsal to consult with Artistic Director and to generally be available to talk with singers
Stipend:
Undergraduates: $30 per rehearsal and $40 per concert*
Graduates: $40 per rehearsal and $50 per concert*
