VOICES CHORALE NJ: TENOR CHORAL SCHOLAR POSITION
Choral Scholars provide vocal expertise and leadership to assist dedicated adult chorale members who greatly appreciate the scholar’s example and inspiration while learning and performing. The scholar additionally shares areas of expertise such as warm-ups, vocal technique, IPA pronunciation, or sectionals. The scholar will also be the tenor soloist in Mozart's Requiem at the May 3rd concert.
- Our spring repertoire includes Mozart's Requiem and José Maurício Nunes Garcia's Requiem
- Our spring concert will be Saturday, May 3 at 4:00 p.m. in Princeton, NJ.
- Rehearsals are held at Music Together, 225 Pennington-Hopewell Road, Hopewell, NJ 08525 (less than 15-minute drive from downtown Princeton)
- Rehearsal Schedule: Monday nights 7:30-9:30 PM, starting January 20, plus one dress rehearsal.
Responsibilities and guidelines for the position:
- Attend Monday night rehearsals at Music Together in Hopewell, New Jersey
- Attend spring concert and dress rehearsals in Princeton, NJ
- Perform as the tenor soloist in Mozart's Requiem at the spring concert on May 3rd
- Sing your voice part at a professional level and act as section leader
- Provide bio and photo for marketing and concert program
- Assist chorus members with the repertoire, as needed
- Arrive 15 minutes before rehearsal to consult with Artistic Director and to generally be available to talk with singers
Stipend:
Undergraduates: $30 per rehearsal and $40 per concert*
Graduates: $40 per rehearsal and $50 per concert*
